Chaz Mostert races past Scott McLaughlin in Supercars record books
WAU star now fifth all-time with 108 podiums, with McLaughlin on 106
Only Whincup, van Gisbergen, Lowndes and Winterbottom have more
The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 was a champagne weekend for Chaz Mostert, who surged upwards up the Supercars record books with a stunning clean sweep.
The Walkinshaw Andretti United driver was peerless in both 85-lap races, twice defeating championship leader Broc Feeney to surge into Finals contention.
Mostert began the weekend sixth in points and left second, jumping Ford trio Matt Payne, Cam Waters and Brodie Kostecki, and reigning champion Will Brown.
Mostert's first victory of the weekend was his 107th podium, taking him past three-time champion Scott McLaughlin into fifth on the all-time list. Another victory took him to 27 wins, equal with 2005 champion Russell Ingall, and one behind old rivals Marcos Ambrose and Greg Murphy.
Two-time Bathurst winner Mostert is now 13 podiums behind former teammate Mark Winterbottom, with Jamie Whincup, Shane van Gisbergen and Craig Lowndes the all-time top three.
Mostert claimed his 100th career podium in Sydney, becoming just the eighth driver to achieve the feat. He has since surpassed Peter Brock, Garth Tander and McLaughlin this season, and is closing on the top 10 all-time winners list.
Mostert's Gold Coast dominance was no surprise to his team, given WAU has prepared for The Finals all season long. However, in Supercars’ PIRTEK Pick the Podium competition, only 13% of voters picked Mostert to win the Gold Coast finale.
Shell V-Power Racing Team veteran Will Davison is the only other active driver in the top 10. The two-time Bathurst winner has 81 career podiums, but has only scored three podiums since the start of 2023.
There are five races remaining in 2025 across the Penrite Oil Sandown 500 and bp Adelaide Grand Final. Tickets for both events are on sale now.
