Ryan Wood will start from pole position in Saturday's first Elimination Final race at the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.

The big news out of qualifying was the major accident for Shell V-Power Racing Team star Brodie Kostecki, who has been ruled out of Saturday's running following a massive crash in Q2 at the first chicane.

Kostecki was scheduled to start out of 16th on the grid. however with the #38 parked for the remainder of the day, everyone who qualified 17th and beyond will be promoted a place on the grid.

Will Brown is facing the same fate, having crashed out of the Shootout. He is set to line up 10th.

The 85-lap race will commence at 3:15pm local time/4:15pm AEDT.
