David Reynolds secures 2026 drive with Team 18
Team 18 takes up option on 2017 Bathurst 1000 winner
Reynolds to contest 17th full Supercars season next year
David Reynolds will contest a 17th Supercars season in 2026, with Team 18 confirming it will retain the 2017 Bathurst 1000 winner.
Announced Tuesday, Team 18 confirmed it has exercised its option with Reynolds to remain with the team next year. The announcement puts a full stop after weeks of speculation over Reynolds's future, with the 40-year-old waiting to hear if he would be exercised or if he would become a free agent.
There are now just six seats unaccounted for on the 2026 grid: two at PremiAir Racing, and one each at Matt Stone Racing, Brad Jones Racing, Erebus Motorsport and Blanchard Racing Team.
Reynolds joined Team 18 from Penrite Racing last season, and sits 18th overall heading to this weekend's Repco Bathurst 1000.
The deal takes Team 18 into its first full season as the new General Motors homologation team with an unchanged driver line-up, with De Pasquale in the first season of his multi-year deal.

In true Reynolds fashion, Team 18 made the announcement on social media with a humourous nod to Anchorman movie character, Ron Burgundy.
“I’m extremely beside myself to stay on at Team 18. This team’s been going from strength to strength since I joined, and I’ve watched everyone grow and get better within themselves," Reynolds said.
"The team’s also grown in size and stature, especially with becoming the homologation team for Chevrolet. I think that’s such a good thing, and I’m really enjoying the journey with everyone.
“It’s great to have this all sorted before the biggest race of the year. It doesn’t really play on your mind, but from time to time it can, so it’s nice to have it done. Now I can just focus on what I love to do to drive my car fast. I can’t wait to finish the year on a high and start next year strong.”
Team owner Charlie Schwerkolt insisted Reynolds has pushed the team forward, with De Pasquale currently in the box seat to clinch a Finals berth at Mount Panorama this weekend.
Schwerkolt added: “We’re thrilled to have Dave Reynolds locked in and staying on with Team 18 into the future.
“He’s been a fantastic addition to the team over the past two seasons, not just with his speed behind the wheel but also with the energy and experience he brings to our garage.
“His input has really pushed us in the right direction and he’s hungry to continue to push this team forward.
“The relationship he’s built with Anton and our engineering group has been really valuable, and keeping that consistency in our line-up will only make us stronger heading into 2026.”
