Ford chasing first Bathurst 1000 victory since 2019
Chaz Mostert won for Ford in 2014, and Holden in 2021
General Motors undefeated since 2020 in Bathurst
It’s been a long time coming for the Blue Oval at Bathurst, but Chaz Mostert wasn’t giving much away over Ford’s chances in 2025.

Holden reeled off four straight after Mostert claimed a stunning triumph in 2014, before Holden/Chevrolet continued General Motors’s dominance after 2019.
Mostert contributed to the streak in 2021, winning in a Walkinshaw Andretti United Commodore. WAU then shifted to Ford in 2023, with Mostert finishing fourth and fifth in his last two starts.
GM has 19 wins to Ford’s six after the turn of the century. After a dominant Mustang sweep of the podium at The Bend, there is renewed hope that Ford can finally break through in 2025.
However, when asked by Supercars.com to send a message to Ford fans over the Blue Oval's drought on Wednesday, Mostert quipped: "Hang in there. We'll be right.”
The driver of the #25 Mobil 1 Optus Ford has 25 career wins. Mostert also noted the omen of the year being 2025.
With one win in 26 races this season, coming back in New Zealand in April, Mostert admitted his year hasn’t gone entirely to plan. However, the 33-year-old is more focused on rolling out the best car possible to give he and Coulthard the best chance come Sunday.
“It's been a little bit of an up and down year for us, we’ve been really working on focusing on The Finals finals,” Mostert said.
"I'm glad that I've made The Finals now that I can just completely focus on the holy grail of trying to win here. So we'll try and roll our best car out that we think is gonna do the job and go from there.”
Track action at Mount Panorama commences on Thursday.
