While the current silly season is set to take centre stage in coming weeks, the players from last year's merry-go-round are currently seven rounds into their new campaigns.
In 2025, three drivers found new homes, while three rookies got the call-up.
Brodie Kostecki, Anton De Pasquale and Kai Allen have already delivered podiums to their new teams, and they're all in Finals contention. Kostecki and De Pasquale are in the top seven, while Allen is just outside the 10. With three rounds until the cut-off, they're all in position to seal a golden ticket into the post-season.
Then, there's Richie Stanaway, Cooper Murray and Aaron Cameron, who have been on rollercoasters with their new teams as they get up to speed.
There's one Sprint Cup round left before the Enduro Cup makes or breaks plenty of drivers' seasons, and ones mentioned below will either race through feast or famine.
Brodie Kostecki
After seven rounds in 2024: 24th
After seven rounds in 2025: 6th
Points to Finals: +246

It took seven rounds, but Dick Johnson Racing's star signing finally graced victory lane with a brilliant victory in the Townsville sprint. Kostecki knocked on the door with poles in New Zealand, but a mid-season lull threatened to put the 2023 champion in Finals danger. He responded and won from pole at Reid Park, but DJR's deficiencies are still lingering in the background. Still, Kostecki and Todd Hazelwood are a formidable combination, and performance in the enduros could vault Kostecki up the order for The Finals.
Season race average: 8.29 (5th of all drivers)
Season qualifying average: 8.26 (6th of all drivers)
Anton De Pasquale
After seven rounds in 2024: 10th
After seven rounds in 2025: 7th
Points to Finals: +120

Similar to Kostecki, it took a while for De Pasquale to show his true smarts with his new team. If anything, relative to their team expectations, De Pasquale needed less time, claiming a podium in Darwin and backing it up in Townsville. After a brilliant start to the season, De Pasquale lost crucial ground due to pit stop dramas in New Zealand, incidents in Tasmania, and car troubles in Perth. He's seventh in points, just behind Kostecki, but you could safely argue he could be sixth.
Season race average: 11.67 (10th of all drivers)
Season qualifying average: 11.84 (10th of all drivers)
Kai Allen
After seven rounds in 2024: N/A
After seven rounds in 2025: 12th
Points to Finals: -80

A breakout star of 2025, Allen has burst into Finals contention in recent rounds. After a quiet start to the year, Allen claimed two podiums in Darwin, and carried his speed into Townsville. He is 80 points behind 10th placed Ryan Wood, and will be a massive player in The Finals with teammate Matt Payne whether he makes it or not. The biggest killer has been lap 1; no driver has lost as many positions on the first lap of races than Allen.
Season race average: 13.0 (14th of all drivers)
Season qualifying average: 12.21 (12th of all drivers)
Richie Stanaway
After seven rounds in 2024: 13th
After seven rounds in 2025: 20th
Points to Finals: -338

PremiAir Racing's performance has regressed after a breakout season in 2024, with James Golding 16th in points. Recruit Stanaway is 20th, and save for a strong run in Tasmania, the Kiwi hasn't kicked on at any stage. The enduros will be pivotal to PremiAir's hopes to get at least one driver in The Finals. Given Stanaway is 338 points behind 10th, the eggs may fall into Golding's basket. However, Stanaway is a weapon at Sandown and Bathurst, so watch this space...
Season race average: 16.94 (22nd of all drivers)
Season qualifying average: 15.74 (20th of all drivers)
Cooper Murray
After seven rounds in 2024: N/A
After seven rounds in 2025: 23rd
Points to 10th: -466

It has been a bruising rookie campaign for Murray, who clearly has raw speed and won't back down from a fight. Only two drivers have lost more positions on lap 1 this season than the Erebus Motorsport driver, who is 105 points ahead of Aaron Cameron, who missed the first round. Murray has swathes of potential, and could be a handful should Erebus find form at the enduros.
Season race average: 19.5 (23rd of all drivers)
Season qualifying average: 13.6 (14th of all drivers)
Aaron Cameron
After seven rounds in 2024: N/A
After seven rounds in 2025: 24th
Points to 10th: -571

Thrust into the main game after Aaron Love's sudden exit, Cameron has survived a baptism of fire in Supercars. Collisions with teammate James Courtney, among other drivers, have battle-hardened Cameron, who found speed in Townsville. Pairing up with Zak Best for the enduros could be a winner for Cameron, with both drivers looking to secure their spots on the 2026 grid.
