Heimgartner to race Supra in 2026 as BJR makes big switch
Brad Jones Racing has secured naming rights for Andre Heimgartner, who will race a new Toyota Supra in 2026.
R&J Batteries has extended its long-standing partnership with BJR, confirming a new agreement that will see the company’s branding carried on a Toyota next season.
Heimgartner has raced R&J Batteries colours since he joined the team in 2022, and famously raced the red and white look to victory in Taupō last April.
The #8 R&J Batteries Toyota Supra will make its competitive debut at Sydney Motorsport Park on February 20–22.
“I am thrilled to be able to announce R&J Batteries as a naming rights sponsor for Car 8 in 2026,” team owner Jones said.
“We’re excited to take them on the journey with us as we enter a whole new era for our team. It’s an immense project for us and to have the support and belief from R&J Batteries means a lot for our crew.
“My relationship with R&J Batteries, the staff, and Ray and Stu, really is a little like looking in the mirror. I find that they're great people to deal with. Honest as the day is long, they deliver exactly what they say.
“It’s fantastic to have people like that to be doing business with, and there's so many synergies between BJR and R&J Batteries."
Heimgartner said: "I’ve been part of the R&J family for five years now and I’m excited to keep that relationship going.
“We’ve been able to celebrate some big milestones with Ray and Stuart over the years — and I’m keen to add some more for that next year. It's a partnership that's been going for a while now and for myself, It's really cool to have those people that you work closely with over the years to want to extend.
"I can't wait to see R&J down the side of a Supra next year.”
Ray Robson. R&J Batteries Managing Director, said: "I think the car looks spectacular. It’s got a sound all of its own. And to be one of the first sponsors to have our name on Toyota. We're very excited about that."
Stuart Hamilton, R&J Batteries CEO, added: "2026 having the Toyotas in the team is very exciting. So, we're looking forward to a whole new era, a whole new partnership, and hopefully a lot of success for Andre and Number #8."
