Following yesterday’s announcement that fans at this year’s NTI Townsville 500 will be treated to a heart-pumping performance under the famous big top by Ministry of Sound, this year’s event will for the first time feature a drone light show over the circuit on Saturday evening.

Fans will be treated to an incredible display with over 500 drones taking to the skies after the Ministry of Sound performance put on by internationally renowned drone specialists ATN.

Supercars and motorsport inspired 3D models will feature in the sky like never before as part of the light show.

The ATN drone show has previously featured at major global events including the Australian Open, Vivid Sydney and the Soundstorm Festival in Saudi Arabia.

Supercars CEO Shane Howard said: "We are thrilled to introduce this incredible drone light show to this year’s NTI Townsville 500.

“It will be a grand finale to a huge Saturday, leaving our fans in awe and providing them with an unforgettable experience.

“The combination of the Ministry of Sound performance and the spectacular drone display will make it one of the most memorable days in the events history.

“We hope fans flock to Reid Park and enjoy a night under the big top and show under the stars with a world-class display from this drone performance.”

"This drone light show is a unique fusion of music, technology and will have a distinct Supercars flavour.

"It's a testament to our commitment to providing supreme entertainment and pushing the boundaries of what's possible at Supercars events."

As well as world-class entertainment, this year’s NTI Townsville 500 will be a milestone round for fan-favourite defending Supercars’ Champion Shane van Gisbergen, who will be celebrating his 500th career race at the event.
