Rising star Nash Morris set for PremiAir Racing evaluation day
Tickford Autosport Super2 driver potentially in line for PremiAir co-drive
Son of 2014 Bathurst winner Paul would race with Richie Stanaway
Tickford junior Nash Morris is set for an evaluation day with PremiAir Racing following his strong start to the 2025 Dunlop Super2 Series.
The Queenslander returned to the Super2 field after a year out of the category in 2024, and has hit the ground running as part of Tickford Autosport's four-car assault on this year's development series.
In a car funded by Scott Taylor Motorsport, Morris claimed his maiden race win last time out in Tasmania, and also finished third for the round, and currently sits second to teammate Rylan Gray in the standings.
Now, Morris could find himself promoted to an enduro call-up with PremiAir Racing, with the team set to run an evaluation day on July 28 at Queensland Raceway.
Morris' evaluation will fall in between Super2 rounds at Townsville on July 11-13 and Queensland Raceway on August 8-10, whilst there will also be an all-in enduro test day in Ipswich on Tuesday August 12.
It won't be the first time that Morris has driven a PremiAir Camaro in 2025, having driven laps at a post-event ride day at Sydney Motorsport Park in February.
There is uncertainty as to who will partner Richie Stanaway at this year's two enduros at The Bend and Bathurst, with early rumours indicating Trans Am star Nathan Herne would pair with the 2023 Bathurst winner.
However, those rumours have quietened in recent weeks, with Morris now seen as a favourite to pair with the Kiwi, whilst James Golding was confirmed to continue his successful partnership with David Russell in November.
At the time of publication, the PremiAir vacancy is one of two, possibly three seats remaining.
Jack Perkins was recently confirmed to continue his partnership with James Courtney at Blanchard Racing Team in their Snowy River Caravans Ford Mustang, in what could be Courtney's final Bathurst start.
Walkinshaw Andretti United has Jayden Ojeda and Fabian Coulthard locked in, but the team hasn't announced its pairings. Coulthard raced with Ryan Wood last year, but also partnered Chaz Mostert in 2022.
There will also be at least three wildcard entries: Triple Eight (Craig Lowndes/Zach Bates), Tickford (Rylan Gray/Lochie Dalton) and MSR (Cameron Crick/TBC). That could expand to four, with Matt Chahda Motorsport keen on putting together another wildcard campaign.
The MSR wildcard co-drive has been up in the air for some time, with Kiwi sportscar ace Brendon Leitch testing the Camaro at the pre-season Sydney test day. However, Triple Eight Super2 drivers Jackson Walls and Ben Gomersall have since emerged to be in the mix for the seat.
The 2025 Repco Supercars Championship continues at the betr Darwin Triple Crown from June 20-22. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
