Vaughan powers to maiden Super2 pole

Brad Vaughan has edged Kai Allen to secure his maiden Super2 pole at the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint.

Super2 rookies Vaughan and Allen will share the front row for Race 2, which will commence at 2:15pm local time/4:15pm AEST.

Eggleston Motorsport driver Allen held sway with a 55.3924s, before Vaughan jumped to the top late on with a 55.3380s.

The margin between the two South Aussie teens was just 0.0544s, with Saturday winner Ryan Wood third with a 55.4636s.

Allen led an Eggleston one-two-three ahead of the final runs, with Cameron Crick and Cooper Murray just behind.

Murray and Crick ended up in fourth and seventh, with Zach Bates making it a Walkinshaw Andretti United three-five result.

Points leader Zak Best was only good enough for 10th, and will share the fifth row with Matt Chahda.

Chahda is celebrating his 50th Super2 round, and came home fifth in Saturday's race.

Local driver Aaron Love was sixth, with Brad Jones Racing rookie Lochie Dalton eighth.

Earlier, Saturday Super3 winner Jobe Stewart claimed class pole over Maathew McCutcheon by just 0.0444s.

Mason Kelly was an impressive third ahead of fellow Altima runners Cameron McLeod and Jett Johnson.

Stewart and McCutcheon will start 13th and 15th overall for Sunday's 40-minute race.
