Kurt Kostecki will start Sunday's Dunlop Super2 Series race from ARMOR ALL Pole, at the Century Batteries Ipswich SuperSprint.

Kostecki, who qualified second and finished third on Saturday, ended the Sunday session just 0.0462 seconds clear or Tickford Racing's Thomas Randle.

It marks a second career ARMOR ALL Pole Position for Kostecki, following a breakthrough last time out in Townsville.

Garry Rogers Motorsport's Dylan O'Keeffe took third, with a late effort after the chequered flag had flown, while series leader Bryce Fullwood was fourth.

As the 15-minute ARMOR ALL Qualifying session got underway, Kostecki set the early pace with a 1:10.8356s and stayed in at the top for the entirety.

No one was able to best that time, except for Kostecki himself, with a 1:10.4395s after the chequered flag.

There was trouble for Eggleston Motorsport Will Brown, who had a transaxle failure during a late flier, forcing him to stop on-track, which brought out the red flags.

The session was resumed with two-and-a-half minutes remaining, which prompted a final-run showdown.

MWM driver Zane Goddard took fifth, ahead of Adam Marjoram, who had a big off at Turn 1 early in the session and managed to escape unscathed.

Eggleston Motorsport's Jack Perkins will start from seventh, ahead of Jack Smith, Mason Barbera and Justin Ruggier, who rounded out the top 10.

Ash Walsh could only manage 13th, finishing ahead of Jake Kostecki and Brenton Grove, while Brown finished at the foot of the order after his mechanical failure.

The second and final race of the weekend will take place at 12:50pm local time.
