Show me your rigs: SVG shares home-simulator setup

Shane van Gisbergen has shared an image of his home simulator, which he uses to keep his skills sharp away from the track. The Red Bull Ampol Racing driver posted a photo to his Facebook account, encouraging fans to 'post up their rigs', having admitted he was "cutting some laps" on Wednesday night.

Giving his followers a behind-the-scenes glimpse, the Kiwi revealed his home simulator has two curved screens and a Sparco racing seat, complete with a black gear shifter and sway bar adjustments. Van Gisbergen also has two steering wheels to choose from, alongside an array of buttons and consoles. Fans were quick to share their own home setups and complement the 2016 Supercars champion on his own. “Solid rig,” one wrote. “I thought you would be a three-monitor setup guy, with your speed and lack of crashes online, this is great you have shared your setup.” “Skills pay the bills.” One commenter cheekily wrote that three-time champion Scott McLaughlin had a better setup, to which van Gisbergen had a reply. “Yeah, his new one is mega,” wrote van Gisbergen. “Full lie down seat. “I sent him some wheel settings to try today.” Van Gisbergen has proven he was the best of Supercars’ real-life drivers in the online arena last year, winning the inaugural Supercars All Star Eseries in June 2020. The 31-year-old featured in Round 4 of the Repco Supercars Pro Eseries as a wildcard in November 2020, joining from his home in New Zealand. Last weekend, he scored a maiden Bathurst 6 Hour win to become just the second driver, after Paul Morris, to win all three major endurance races at Mount Panorama. Van Gisbergen will be looking to extend his Supercars winning streak to seven races at the Beaurepaires Tasmania SuperSprint across April 17-18. Tickets are on sale now.
