Supercars has announced a weekend attendance of 128,337 for the 2025 NTI Townsville 500, the largest crowd figure at the event since 2018.

Cementing itself as North Queensland’s largest annual sporting event, this year’s event featured an all-new event offering with three days of Supercars racing and hugely popular new entertainment opportunities for fans to enjoy.

Townsville was treated to five days of on and off-track entertainment with the Repco Supercars Championship in town, starting with Wednesday’s NTI Transporter Parade through the heart of the city.

Thursday’s Track to Town and all-new Palmer Street Party was a hit, with fans piling in to Tiny Mountain Brewery to welcome the full field of drivers and their Supercars on the eve of the first day of racing.

An all-new racing format saw Supercars race on all three days, including its first-ever Friday race on the streets around Reid Park.

A massive off-track entertainment offering was highlighted by PBR Australia’s Tasman Cup – a world-first motorsport and bullriding crossover – which wowed fans who packed the infield to see Team Australia knock off Team New Zealand in a thrilling Friday night on the dirt.

On Saturday, Summernats Goes Troppo lit up the bitumen on the Pro Burnout Series Skid Zone, with some of the country’s wildest machines burning rubber in front of another bumper crowd.

Further activations including MotorEx Alley, Street Machine Tuff Show, an expanded ADF display, Friday’s musical performance from Australian Idol winner Dylan Wright, and much more made for an unforgettable 19th Supercars event on the streets of Townsville.

“This year’s NTI Townsville 500 has been our biggest event yet in North Queensland, and we are delighted to see that reflected in our largest attendance at the event since 2018,” said Supercars CEO Shane Howard.

“The racing on-track was intense as it always is, and from the NTI Transporter Parade to the all-new Palmer Street Party, and the spectacular Friday and Saturday nights with PBR Australia and Summernats Goes Troppo, fans were treated to a fantastic weekend in The ‘Ville.

“Our team has worked tirelessly to put on an event tailor-made for Townsville, and we believe we’re onto a recipe for continued success at North Queensland’s largest annual sporting event.”

The NTI Townsville 500 is supported by the Queensland Government, through Tourism and Events Queensland’s Major Events Program and Townsville City Council through, Townsville Enterprise.
