Mustang Supercar to feature at iconic Goodwood festival
A Ford Supercar will make an appearance at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.
This year’s event, which celebrates heritage and modern motorsport, will celebrate the career of Roger Penske.
The Penske name has featured in Formula 1, IndyCar, NASCAR, and American sportscar racing since the 1960s.
Notably, Team Penske has claimed 18 wins in the Indianapolis 500.

The 2021 festival, which will be held across July 8-11, will also feature Australian Will Power’s 2018 Indy 500-winning car.
The Penske celebration is in line with the theme of this year’s festival, 'The Maestros – Motorsport’s Great All-Rounders’.
Penske achieved success in the Supercars Championship, linking up with Dick Johnson to steer the Shell V-Power Racing Team to the heights of the category.
Between 2017 and 2020, the team won over 50 races, with Scott McLaughlin winning three straight drivers’ titles between 2018 and 2020.
The car which will feature at Goodwood, DJR FG19, was originally built as a Ford FG Falcon, and was later converted to the Mustang body style and used as a Team Penske show car.

"I have wonderful memories of racing at Goodwood in 1963 and am honoured to be invited to return this summer,” Penske said.
"I am very much looking forward to sharing in the celebrations with Goodwood’s passionate fans as they return for the 2021 Festival of Speed.”

The Duke of Richmond, Charles Gordon-Lennox, said: "We are incredibly excited that Roger is able to join us at the Festival of Speed this year as we celebrate Motorsport’s Great All-Rounders, among whom he undoubtedly numbers.
"We are very much looking forward to seeing both the hugely successful cars which have been assembled, as well as Roger himself take to the Hill over the course of the weekend."
