Aaron Love will swap his Super2 Ford Mustang Supercar for an S5000 machine at this weekend’s Beaurepaires Sydney SuperNight.
Love will make his S5000 Australian Drivers' Championship debut at Sydney Motorsport Park this week.
The Perth-born driver replaces the suspended Joey Mawson in the ACM Finance/88 Racing entry run by Team BRM.
S5000 is one of four categories on the support card this weekend, along with Australian GT, Toyota 86 and V8 SuperUtes.
Love currently races for Blanchard Racing Team in the Dunlop series, and currently sits seventh in the standings.
S5000 starts come after Love's successful stint in one-make Porsche racing where he finished runner-up in the 2022 Porsche Carrera Cup Championship.
He is no stranger to open-wheelers, with Love finishing third in the 2018 Australian Formula 4 Championship with BRM.
Love’s older brother Jordan also raced for BRM in the junior open-wheel category.
All support categories will be on track from Friday. All three S5000 races will be broadcast live on Fox Sports (channel 506) and Kayo Sports.
"It's exciting to jump into a Formula car for the first time in a long time,” said Love, who recently completed a shakedown at The Bend.
"I've been doing some Radical stuff but it's been a long time since I've raced anything like this, so I'm really looking forward to the challenge and learning the car and the series.
"There's no doubt it's going to be competitive and close at the front.
"Thanks to Albert [Callegher] and ACM Finance for their support and to Team BRM, it's great to be back with the team that helped launch my national racing career.
"It's a great opportunity for more seat time in a fast, challenging car in a long break between Super2 rounds and I plan to make the most of it."
