How the Supercars drivers are spending their mid-season break
Missing the Supercars action already? It’s not too early to start dreaming about being back trackside, but in driver-land, it’s already been a busy break.
Shane van Gisbergen
The championship leader is rarely not working on his racecraft, admitting he planned to spend the snap seven-day lockdown in Queensland on his racing simulator.
The Red Bull Ampol Racing driver posted a photo of his set up to his social media accounts last week, also showing his impressive display of model Supercars.
Fabian Coulthard
Also in lockdown last week was Team Sydney driver Fabian Coulthard, who lives on the Gold Coast with his partner Becky Lamb and their twin toddlers.
Using the break to spend quality time with his family, the 39-year-old is also restoring a BMX he purchased earlier this year.
Cam Waters
Tickford Racing driver Waters headed back to Victoria after winning two races at the WD-40 Townsville SuperSprint.
Celebrating his birthday last week, the 27-year-old is spending time with his 16-week-old Border Collie puppy Winnie.
The Monster Energy driver also had a short trip to the snow before the Victorian lockdown came into effect on August 5.
Andre Heimgartner
It was back to the grind for Kelly Grove Racing driver Heimgartner, working on his reaction training with long-term performance coach Josh Webb.
Jack Le Brocq
Tickford Racing driver Le Brocq, also headed back to Victoria after doubleheader events in North Queensland.
The Melbourne-based driver was welcomed home by his Border Collie puppy Ziggy, who is the brother of his Waters’ puppy Winnie.
Scott Pye
Team 18 driver turned media boss Pye has kept himself busy off-track running his business One Nine Media.
The DEWALT Racing driver spent some time at the workshop with teammate Mark Winterbottom last week before Victoria headed into a seven-day lockdown on August 5.
The 31-year-old is using the downtime to continue with home renovations and spend time with his partner and English Bulldog Biggie.
Todd Hazelwood
Brad Jones Racing driver Hazelwood remained in Queensland following the Townsville doubleheader last month, opting to head to Bundaberg to spend time with his partner.
The pair have enjoyed going to the track to test the 25-year-old’s new go-kart and competed in muddy obstacle course event on Saturday.
Nick Percat
Brad Jones Racing driver Percat relocated from the teams’ base in Albury in New South Wales to the Gold Coast last month.
Enjoying a holiday in the Whitsundays before his big move, he spent time relaxing and sightseeing with his girlfriend and BJR teammate Jack Smith.
The 32-year-old is taking part in PAWGUST with his chocolate Labrador Nelson, seeing the pair walk 60-minutes everyday throughout August to riase money for Guide Dogs Australia.

Based with the Brad Jones Racing Team in Albury in New South Wales, the Coca-Cola Racing driver has spent his time off-track at the workshop.
The 26-year-old posted a photo during a bike ride to his social accounts last week and enjoyed a day out with the family at an indoor trampoline centre.
Zane Goddard
The Matt Stone Racing driver enjoyed a road trip on his way back home to the Gold Coast, stopping at Airlie Beach, Great Keppel Island, and Rainbow Beach.
Wil Brown
Erebus Motorsport recruit Brown headed home to Toowoomba following back-to-back events in Townsville, returning to his day job at his family’s car dealership.
The keen pilot often spends his downtime in the air but shared a photo of him taking an old Alfa Romeo out for a spin over the weekend.
