Holden Racing Team remains in ANZAC livery for Perth
Holden will continue to honour the ANZAC Tradition at this weekend's Perth SuperSprint, with its factory team running the poignant ANZAC livery again.
For the past three years, Holden and the Holden Racing team has paid tribute to Australian and New Zealand soldiers with a special, one off ANZAC livery to raise awareness and funds for the Returned & Services League's annual ANZAC Appeal.
For the first time in the initiative's history, Garth Tander and James Courtney will carry the ANZAC livery on their Holden VF Commodores for a second event.
GM Holden Motorsport and Sponsorship Manager Simon McNamara said the ANZAC livery is a concept Holden is proud to be a part of, and the initiative is even more significant in 2015.
"Holden has been proud to support the ANZAC tradition and honour those who have served our country, and the ANZAC livery has become a highlight of our motorsport activities over the past three years," McNamara said.
"There has been so much emotion surrounding ANZAC Day and the 100th anniversary of the Gallipoli landing, and we believe it is only fitting to run the tribute at a second event.
"This year's ANZAC livery had an overwhelming, positive response from fans at Tasmania, and we look forward to taking the ANZAC design to Perth for the first time."
The Returned & Services League Victorian Branch's Appeals Manager, Peter Smith OAM, said Holden's ongoing support of the ANZAC Appeal provides a significant boost to awareness of the appeal.
"Holden's support and helping get our message out to Australians is very important to us," Smith said.
"We're raising money for veterans welfare - old veterans, young veterans, and their families when they most need help."
The Perth SuperSprint takes place this weekend at Barbagallo Raceway, with practice starting from 10:30am localon Friday - tickets available now.
HRT's Courtney and Tander sit second and fourth in the V8 Supercars Championship, respectively, after two point-scoring rounds in 2015.
