DJR unveils Shell livery for title defence

Dick Johnson Racing has taken the covers off its new Shell V-Power Racing Team livery for the 2021 Repco Supercars Championship.

The team enters the new year with an all-new driver line-up, with Will Davison and Anton De Pasquale to steer the familiar red, white and yellow scheme.

The 2021 season marks the return of the standalone DJR name, with the team running under the DJR Team Penske moniker between 2015 and 2020.

In revealing the new scheme, the team also confirmed the continuation of its five-decade partnership with the Shell brand, with Viva Energy Australia signing a new multi-year naming rights deal.

"We're delighted to not only be showing our partners and supporters our 2021 Ford Mustang for the first time but to also announce that Viva Energy Australia has renewed its naming rights partnership with us," said team chairman and CEO Ryan Story.

"Viva Energy Australia has been a key part of our success since joining us as naming rights partner back in 2017, but their association with Dick Johnson through racing and business extends over 50 years.

"They have been a cornerstone of our operations since 1987 with the two DJR Shell Ultra-Hi Sierras.

"We have a great relationship with Viva Energy, and they have been a fantastic collaborator on this journey."

Dick Johnson Racing co-owner Dick Johnson was excited to take strong partnerships into the new season.

"Shell, as you know, has been with us for certainly all of my career," he said.

"It's an absolute pleasure to work with people that really understand the value of not only what we're doing but how they interact with the team and become a real part of our racing family at every race meeting.

"And that's very, very important from our point of view."

The team has been the dominant force in Supercars since 2018, with Scott McLaughlin winning three straight drivers' titles between 2018 and 2020.

DJR also claimed teams' championships in 2017, 2019 and 2020.

Davison and De Pasquale will turn laps at the official pre-season test at Queensland Raceway on Friday.

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will commence at the Repco Mt Panorama 500. Tickets are on sale now.
