Having been involved with the team since 1988, Valvoline will hold naming rights sponsorship for Garry Rogers Motorsport for 2014.

Shifting to new Volvos this season, this is just one of the exciting announcements for the team, which confirmed Swede Robert Dahlgren as its second driver alongside Scott McLaughlin last week.

This season the team will be known as Valvoline Racing GRM, with its competitor name Volvo Polestar Racing.

“Valvoline have shared our wins and our success and have also been with us through some tough times,” team boss Garry Rogers said in the team’s sponsorship announcement.

Valvoline Australia Managing Director Peter Besgrove said the team’s promotion of Valvoline products meant the long-term association had been a worthwhile commercial decision.

“Garry and his team have established themselves as an important contributor to our company and customers,” Besgrove said.

“The interaction between the GRM people and the Valvoline people has been a very rewarding one for us all.”

A Volvo V8 Supercar ran for the first time last week, and Rogers was happy with the team’s progress as the Sydney.com Test Day edged closer, to run on February 15.

The team also confirmed long-time co-driver Greg Ritter had re-signed for the 2014 season last week.
