Garry Jacobson has signalled a change in expectations for PremiAir Racing after a standout weekend at Albert Park.

Jacobson wildly impressed in Melbourne with three top 10 results over the weekend, including a career-best finish.

The former Super2 champion ended his weekend with 15th in the finale, having lost time in the pits.

It was still enough to land eighth overall for the weekend for Jacobson.

Having had a taste of the pointy end, Jacobson is motivated to held the new team retain its newfound form.

"We moved forward in every race this weekend,” he said.

“The car was pretty quick, and we were lucky to get off to good starts and stay out of trouble and gain some good positions.

"It is funny how quickly your expectations change; as you start tasting and dealing with success, everyone has got a taste of it.”

It was a tougher weekend for Chris Pither, who recorded finishes of 24th, 17th, 19th and 21st over the weekend.

Jacobson was the hardest charger of all across the first three races, having gained over 30 positions.

While it didn’t come to fruition on Sunday, Jacobson reiterated the team must perform in Perth to prove Albert Park wasn’t a fluke.

"Top 10s were something new for us this weekend,” he said.

“We were very pleased to be able to achieve that, but now we want more.

"That is a natural thing for competitors and teams to want more, so we will go to Perth with that mindset.

"We know there are a few more things we can iron out and fix for Perth and it is a long year ahead.

“Now we have the time to take it back to the workshop to rectify it all, so we are going to come back even quicker for Barbagallo I am sure.”

The 2022 season will resume in Perth later this month.
