Hometown hero Scott Pye has met with some of his youngest fans in South Australia, just eight days out from the VALO Adelaide 500.

Pye visited Prospect North Primary School to meet with students before they descend on the Adelaide Parklands Street Circuit for the event’s official School’s Day.

The VALO Adelaide 500 School’s Day will be held on Thursday, December 1, and will host over 1,400 students from more than 50 schools across the region.

School kids get revved up for Adelaide 500

Students from local primary, secondary, home schools, and learning centres will visit the VALO Adelaide 500 precinct, to receive an all-access educational experience during the Repco Supercars Championship finale.

Ahead of taking on his home circuit for the first time in nearly three years, Pye showed off his replica #20 Holden Commodore Supercar to eager students.

The Team 18 driver also handed the students their Pit Stop Path, which highlights the action-packed schedule for the upcoming School’s Day.

The interactive experience will take students on a venture along the Pit Stop Path, enjoying a long list of attractions, including vehicle displays, live demonstrations, and fun in the Activation and Family Zones.

Students will also be able to catch plenty of on-track action from the Hot Wheels Stunt Team, S5000 Tasman Series, and Aussie Racing Car practice sessions.

Pye met with Prospect North Primary School students on Wednesday

“The VALO Adelaide 500 School's program will be a special day for kids across the state especially given the experience that they will get on the track and throughout the whole precinct,” Pye said.

“Growing up in South Australia and getting to race at the Adelaide 500 was always a dream of mine, and to have that taken away for a couple of years has made me appreciate the race even more.

“With the track being resurfaced this year it provides a great opportunity and at the same time additional challenges, we just can't wait to check it out and race here next weekend.”

Pye’s Adelaide return will come with a new livery, which will be revealed at Team 18’s open day on Sunday November 27.

The VALO Adelaide 500 will take place from December 1-4, 2022. Tickets are now on sale via Ticketek.
