Matt Stone Racing has undergone a management reshuffle, the team has announced.

MSR confirmed Friday that Jason Gomersall will step back from his advisory position within the team.

The team, which competes under the Truck Assist Racing banner, will continue to be led by CEO and founder Stone.

Gomersall races for MSR in the Super3 category, and will compete in Bathurst next week.

He has long been part of the MSR family, and notably backed Todd Hazelwood’s 2017 Super2 title.

Gomersall will shift his remaining focus to his digital Infrastructure business, iseek.

"For the immediate future I need to focus my attention on my core business as it goes through a period of continual expansion,” Gomersall explained.

“My passion and commitment for motorsport is as strong as ever.

“But I will be focusing the limited amount of time that I do have for that pursuit to just my own and my son’s racing.”

Gomersall will remain an equity partner in the team, with Stone the majority owner.

Stone thanked Gomersall for his role with the team.

He also reiterated that there will be no "fundamental changes within MSR’s operations.

“Jason has been and remains an excellent partner in the business and will always remain a personal mentor of mine,” Stone said.

“These changes are more of a formalisation of how the team currently operates and won’t see any fundamental changes within the team’s operations.”

MSR will field two cars in next weekend’s Repco Bathurst 1000, and single Super2 and Super3 entries.

Cars will hit the track at Mount Panorama for Practice 1 on Thursday October 6.

Tickets for the Repco Bathurst 1000 are available on Supercars.com and Ticketek.
