Experience counts for much at Mount Panorama, and that will again be the case this weekend.

Six driving combinations at this weekend's Repco Bathurst 1000 will combine for 30 or more Great Race starts.

Jamie Whincup and Craig Lowndes will make their seventh start together, and combine for 46 Bathurst starts.

Sunday's race will be the 28th consecutive start for Lowndes, who has won the race seven times.

Lowndes and Whincup won the race three times on the bounce between 2006 and 2008.

'Great to have fans back!: SVG and Tander share special fan moment

The 2020 winners, Shane van Gisbergen and Garth Tander, combine for 36 starts.

Van Gisbergen, the 2021 champion-elect, was just nine years old when Tander made his first Bathurst start in 1998.

The 2017 winners, David Reynolds and Luke Youlden, will pilot a True Blue-liveried Penrite Mustang for their 15th and 21st starts respectively.

Davison brothers Will and Alex will make their 18th and 17th starts; 2013 winner Mark Winterbottom and co-driver Michael Caruso combine for 33 starts.

Fabian Coulthard, who finished third in 2017, will make his 18th starts alongside 2016 winner Jonathan Webb.

The two least experienced combinations on the grid are at Matt Stone Racing; the Zane Goddard/Jayden Ojeda entry combines for two starts.

Both drivers made their Great Race debut in 2020. Kostecki brothers Jake and Kurt will make their third and second starts respectively.

Five drivers have made 20 or more starts; Lowndes (27), Russell Ingall (25), Tander (22), Youlden (20) and Warren Luff (20).

There will be only one debutant this weekend; Zak Best will make his first Great Race start alongside Jack Le Brocq at Tickford Racing.

Supercars will hit the track on Thursday for Practice 1 at 10:00am AEDT. Click here to view the track schedule.

Every session of the event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 503) and streamed on Kayo.

The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
