The Dunlop Series will receive another boost for the next two roundswhen Steven Johnson jumps behind the wheel of aMatt Stone prepared FG Falcon.

Johnson will join a number of Pirtek Enduro Cup co-drivers looking to get some race time in before the V8 Supercars' big three events, including the Wilson Security Sandown 500, Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and Gold Coast 600.

The Matt Stone Falcon isthe last FG built by the Stone Brothers, and is now owned by Terry Wyhoon. The car has previously run this year with both Jack Le Brocq and Taz Douglas at the wheel and isthe ex-V8 Supercar of Tim Slade.

The move comes with the core Dick Johnson Racing sponsor group - Wilson Security, PAYCE and Crimsafe - all getting behind Johnson to ensure he is ready for the major endurance events, which he will contest in the #17 with David Wall.

The Dunlop Series car will run as #170 and carry the full DJR livery.

"Other than the DJR ride day in Perth I have not been able to get any seat time this year," Johnson said.

"It makes perfect sense to grab this opportunity and contest two of the Dunlop Series rounds.

"One is a street circuit and of course the other (QR) is our home track.

"Matt Stone really runs a good outfit and Ash Walsh proved last year that he had been given great guidance by Matt and his crew.

"There will be plenty of young guys wanting to take a shot at me for sure, so I need to qualify well and get with that lead bunch. I follow the Dunlop Series very closely and I can assure you I know it is going to a tough fight.

"I am really thankful that Wilson Security, PAYCE and Crimsafe have got behind this. I will be doing my best to repay them. Roll on Townsville!"

Matt Stone added, "It will also be good to get Steve's feedback on car set up and our engineering approach. He comes with a different mindset to the Dunlop Series guys and it will be valuable to the team having him on board."

Round four of the Dunlop Series runs at next weekend's Castrol Townsville 500 - Driven by TAFE Queensland from July 4-6.

Matt Stone and Pirtek Enduro Cup co-driver Ash Walsh leads the series after three rounds.
