Bryce Fullwood will remain on the grid in 2022, having sealed a deal with Brad Jones Racing.

The 2019 Super2 champion made the leap to the main game in 2020 with Walkinshaw Andretti United, and was retained by the team for 2021.

However, the Darwin-born driver will join Andre Heimgartner as a BJR recruit next season.

Fullwood has started 55 races and scored his first podium finish at The Bend Motorsport Park last September.

He recorded a top 10 at the season-opening Repco Mt Panorama 500, and is just 96 points from 10th overall heading to this weekend’s Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight.

An effective swap with Nick Percat looms, with the 2011 Bathurst winner recently confirming his BJR exit.

Supercars are back in Sydney

Todd Hazelwood was last week confirmed at Matt Stone Racing for the 2022 season.

BJR incumbents Jack Smith and Macauley Jones have both indicated they are keen to race on with the team in 2022.

For Fullwood, Wednesday’s news ensures his main game career remains alive following months of uncertainty.

"Brad has always been a big supporter of mine right the way back to go kart days and I’m stoked to be able to race with Brad and the team at BJR,” the 23-year-old said.

"I love the way the team goes about their business; they’re all hardcore racing people with a hell of a lot of passion for what they do and I’m looking forward to getting stuck in to it with them.

"I’m very thankful for the opportunity and looking forward to a new chapter for me moving forwards.

"The future is looking exciting for the team and I’m super happy to be a part of it.”

Fullwood started season 2021 with a Bathurst top 10

BJR team owner Brad Jones added: "It’s a very exciting time for the team with Bryce coming on board.

"He’s shown some strong potential and is still in his early days of his Supercar career, so I feel like with the right guidance he’ll be a strong podium contender in the future.

"Bryce is very personable, and I feel like he’ll fit in well with the team and our partners.

"We’ve got a few changes happening as we transition in 2022 and I’m looking forward to what’s ahead."

The 2021 Repco Supercars Championship will continue at this weekend’s Bunnings Trade Sydney SuperNight. Tickets for all four upcoming Sydney events are on sale now.

All sessions will be broadcast live on Fox Sports and streamed via Kayo.

The Seven Network will broadcast live from 3:30pm AEDT on Saturday and 12:30pm AEDT on Sunday.
