Blockbuster line-up to tackle Reid Park circuit next weekend

Next weekend's NTI Townsville will see a blockbuster line-up of support categories on the Repco Supercars Championship undercard.

With the Winton event being postponed, Townsville will host the second round of the 2021 Dunlop Series.

Super2 drivers will compete at the Reid Park venue for the first time since 2019, with Super3 runners again joining the grid.

Zak Best will enter the event as series leader, having assumed the points lead following the Race 2 disqualification of Jordan Boys.

The first series to hit the track on the Friday will be the Toyota GAZOO Racing Australia 86 Series.

The one-make series, which last rolled out at February's Repco Mt Panorama 500, will see Cameron Crick look to extend his points lead following a Bathurst clean sweep.

Crick will arrive with a 38-point lead over James Holdsworth, with Aaron Borg 58 points down in third.

The Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia series will also make its return to a Supercars undercard, having last competed in Townsville in 2019.

Cameron Hill is the runaway series leader, winning four of five races this season so far across the Sandown and Tailem Bend events.

Hill leads Aaron Love by a whopping 83 points, with former champion David Wall a further point adrift in third.

The popular Boost Mobile Stadium Super Trucks serieswill also make a return to Townsville, with the high-octane category making a triumphant appearance at Hidden Valley Raceway earlier this month.

The Darwin event saw Shae Davies walk away with maximum points for the weekend ahead of Paul Morris.

The Repco Supercars Championship field will return to North Queensland for the NTI Townsville 500 across July 9-11. Tickets are available here.

The event will be broadcast live on Foxtel and will be streamed on Kayo, and will be broadcast live and free on Seven.
