Matt Stone Racing duo Todd Hazelwood and Jack Le Brocq have met with some of their youngest Queensland fans.

The drivers joined students at Greenbank State School in Brisbane's south for a half-day workshop.

Hazelwood and Le Brocq hosted a 30-minute Q&A, before leading a race car-themed arts and crafts session.

More than 50 children made race cars from cardboard boxes, complete with steering wheels and painted chassis.

Hazelwood, a former Super2 champion, began karting when he was seven.

"I had a bit of a flashback building cars inside from cardboard and tissue paper," Hazelwood told Supercars.com.

"Making things with tape and drawing things up on paper, it’s a lot of fun.

"I’m so passionate about our sport and I used to do all of that sort of stuff at school as well.

"It’s been a cool day to interact with the kids and to give them a bit of an insight into what goes on in our life from a motorsport point of view.

His teammate, who Le Brocq turned 30 earlier this month also reflected on his school years.

"It’s been really cool to spend time with the kids,” Le Brocq told Supercars.com.

"Doing arts and crafts and answering their questions has been fun.

"We had one young fella ask about the gearbox and engine, he is pretty switched on, which was cool."

Le Brocq reached both ARMOR ALL Top Ten Shootouts at last weekend’s NTI Townsville 500.

He finished sixth in Saturday’s Shootout, before backing it up with seventh on Sunday.

Le Brocq is now 17th in the standings, with Hazelwood 16th.

The 2022 season will resume at the OTR SuperSprint on July 30-31. Purchase your tickets now.
