To our Main Beach and Surfers Paradise residents,
Thank you for welcoming us back to your neighbourhood for the Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500.
We know that delivering a major event in the heart of a residential community comes with disruption, and we genuinely appreciate the patience, understanding and support shown by local residents throughout the event.
Macintosh Island Park and the surrounding residential precincts are incredibly important to us. They are valued community spaces and neighbourhoods that residents enjoy year-round, and we are committed to treating them with the care and respect they deserve.
Throughout the event period, our team has been working closely with our event delivery partners to manage the precinct, including monitoring site conditions, maintaining access where possible and responding to environmental and community impacts.
We recognise that the significant rainfall experienced over the past week, combined with the demands of delivering the event, has had an impact on parts of Macintosh Island Park. We also understand the community's interest in how areas such as Macintosh Island Park, Commodore Park and other event-affected locations will be restored following the event.
Our work does not finish when the final race ends.
Following the event, our experienced event delivery team will move into pack-down and recovery, working closely with the City of Gold Coast to assess affected areas and undertake the remediation required to return the precinct to the best possible condition. Restoration works will continue beyond event weekend as required.
Supercars has extensive experience delivering major events in complex environments, including temporary street circuits such as the Gold Coast. We understand the responsibility that comes with operating within a residential community, and the care required before, during and after an event of this scale. The precinct construction program itself extends beyond event weekend, with post-event works scheduled from as soon as the podium is clear as the site transitions into deconstruction and rectification works.
The Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 and our relationship with the local community are incredibly important to us. We love this part of the Gold Coast and want residents to feel proud to have one of Australia’s great sporting events in their backyard.
Thank you again for having us.
