After 10 years in the full-time game, Scott Pye will shift to enduro duties in 2024 with Triple Eight.

Pye's fourth and final year with Team 18 in 2023, driving one of two team Camaros alongside Mark Winterbottom, netted an overall finish of 18th.

Pye was a standout in his junior career, progressing through the ranks of karting and Formula Ford.

He finished third in the 2009 Australian Formula Ford Championship behind Nick Percat and Mitch Evans before the European dream beckoned.

Moving to the UK, he claimed the prestigious British Formula Ford Championship in 2010 with 14 race wins before stepping-up to the cut-throat British Formula 3 Championship a year later.

He finished 10th in the points with a victory at Rockingham the highlight, joining the likes of Mark Webber, Daniel Ricciardo and Will Davison as Australian drivers to win in the category.

The backing of Roland Dane and Triple Eight helped Pye with his overseas program, before he returned to Australia in 2012 to drive a Triple-Eight prepared Holden Commodore in a talent-packed Super2 field, his first year out of open-wheel racing.

In his debut season racing tin tops, he won the Mike Kable Young Gun Award for best first-year driver, clinching a breakthrough round win in the final event at Homebush and finishing runner-up to Scott McLaughlin in the overall standings.

He joined Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport for his first year of main game competition in 2013, with a highlight being a top 10 finish at Bathurst with Paul Morris which earned him a drive with the famous Dick Johnson Racing team the following year.

DJR downgraded to a single car for Marcos Ambrose in 2015 as Team Penske commenced their Supercars involvement.

However, Pye stepped back in to replace Ambrose in early 2015 and ’16 when it expanded back to a two-car team.

Having joined Walkinshaw Andretti United team in 2017, Pye grabbed his maiden Supercars race win at Albert Park in 2018, and a career-best of seventh in the championship.

He also made it back-to-back Bathurst podiums with Warren Luff, the pair finishing second in the Great Race in 2017 and 2018.

Pye joined Team 18 as the driver for the team’s expanded second entry alongside Mark Winterbottom.

He claimed the team’s first podium as a standalone outfit at the Darwin Triple Crown before he followed on with two more third place finishes at Hidden Valley the next weekend and finished sixth at the season-ending Bathurst 1000 with Dean Fiore.

Pye went on to finish ninth in the championship characterised by his strong race pace and comeback performances throughout the year.
