Six years after he was scheduled to make a Bathurst debut, Nathan Herne will finally line up at Mount Panorama with a point to prove.

The New South Welshman will join veteran James Moffat in Garry Rogers Motorsport's return to the Repco Bathurst 1000, reuniting with the team where he's had plenty of success.

Herne was initially in line to debut with GRM at Bathurst in 2020, having won the Australian and Victorian Formula Ford titles in 2018, however was replaced at the last minute due to a licensing dispute.

Since then, Herne has been one of the superstars of the booming Trans An scene, winning back-to-back titles in 2021 and 2022, whilst also winning the 2022 S5000 Tasman Series with GRM.

A move to America beckoned, claiming three podiums in a full season in the American Trans Am Series, before returning to Australia to run his own operation, Nathan Herne Racing.

Herne has also had several Supercars tests since his aborted Bathurst debut, and was in the running for a PremiAir Racing co-drive last year.

Herne has become a fan favourite for his hard charging and no nonsense style, and could be one to watch in October.
