Jarrod Hughes becomes the latest Erebus Academy prospect to graduate to a solo Supercars drive, replacing Cooper Murray for the final three rounds of 2026.
As part of a mid-season Chevrolet driver shuffle, Hughes gets a three-round stint in Erebus' #99 Camaro, a golden chance to stake his claim on a full-time ride with Erebus for 2027 and beyond.
The bubbly Queenslander starred at the AirTouch 500 at The Bend in the sister #9 Chevrolet alongside Jobe Stewart, comfortably leading the race in appalling conditions in just his third ever Supercars start.
After a difficult Super2 campaign in 2025, Hughes diverted his attention to Trans Am in 2026, taking it to the likes of Bathurst winner Todd Hazelwood and former Supercars driver James Moffat. Hughes has also been part of Erebus' enduro roster since last year.
His rookie Super2 season in 2024 was exceptional, claiming rookie of the year honours with Erebus-aligned Image Racing, and fourth outright, ahead of stablemate and 2023 Super3 champion Stewart..
The Queenslander has also been a race winner in the popular GT4 category, and has driven for both Triple Eight and Chaz Mostert's Method Motorsport in the series.
Hughes honed his skills as a full-time driver trainer at Paul Morris's Norwell Motorplex, but his biggest impact has been made on the track.
He won the Hyundai Excel Championship and also hit the top in Toyota 86s, and was recognised by Toyota with the prestigious Kaizen Award.
