After a rookie campaign highlighted by a shock front row start on debut in Sydney, New Zealand's Ayrton Hodson returns for a second Super2 campaign.
Having driven an ex-DJR Mustang last year, Hodson now jumps aboard an ex-Triple Eight Commodore run by Matt Stone Racing.
A relative newcomer to circuit racing, Hodson's racing journey started out in speedway in his native New Zealand, debuting in Ministocks at age 13.
Hodson is still a regular in the New Zealand Sprintcar scene, and is a constant threat for wins, racing against the likes of three-time Supercars champion and Bathurst winner Shane van Gisbergen.
An introduction to tarmac racing came as recently as 2023, and impressed in his rookie season in the New Zealand Toyota 86 Series.
Prominent Porsche team owner Andy McElrea then brought Hodson across the ditch to contest the 2024 Porsche Sprint Challenge season, finishing fifth in his first season in Australia.
That was enough for Anderson Motorsport to give him a Super2 ride last year, which was duly repaid with a stunning debut in Sydney.
