A lower minimum tyre pressure is set to be in place at the next two events, the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint and the betr Darwin Triple Crown.

Next weekend's Perth round will be held on Dunlop's Soft tyre compound, while the Darwin Triple Crown will be held on the Super Soft compound.

The Darwin event will be the first in 2024 conducted on Dunlop's Super Soft tyre compound, which will also be used in Tasmania and Sandown.

A minimum of two tyres must be changed in pit stops at both events.

The Hidden Valley Raceway surface is notably easy on tyres, and Darwin also has high winter ambient temperatures. However, Perth is notoriously hard on tyres, and slightly higher degradation is expected given sand and track use.

Lowering tyre pressures ensures more rubber contacts the road, allowing for better drive.

In Darwin event regulations released Thursday, which includes the track schedule, a minimum pressure of 15psi will be in place. Later, the further supplementary regulations for the Perth event also revealed a drop from 17 to 15psi.

The minimum tyre pressure is currently 17 psi at all other Repco Supercars Championship events.

Per Rule D17.1.17 in both sets of regulations, "The minimum permitted pressure of a Control Tyre when fitted to a Car is 15psi which must be achieved at any time that the Car is on the Circuit during any Session."

The season will resume in Perth on May 17-19. Tickets for the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint are on sale now. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
