Brad Jones Racing rookie Jaxon Evans has secured a Thailand cameo in the lead-up to the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint.

This weekend, Evans will make his Asian racing debut at the second round of the GT World Challenge Asia season, sharing a Porsche 911 GT3 R with Chinese racer Sun JungZu at the Chang International Circuit.

Evans, who remains on Porsche's list of contracted drivers, is set to race against some of the world’s best GT drivers in Luca Stolz, Maro Engel, Markus Winkelhock, Maximilian Goetz and Patrick Pilet.

It continues Evans’ busy start to 2024, following his three Supercars rounds and his first GT World Challenge Australia start in an Arise Racing Ferrari alongside Elliott Schutte at Phillip Island.

The Kiwi also reunites with Phantom Global Racing, which ran Evans in a Porsche at February’s Repco Bathurst 12 Hour.

He isn't the only Supercars driver in action this weekend, with Matt Payne and Garth Tander contesting the the 24H SERIES race in Portugal.

Two one hour races headline the Thailand GT World Challenge Asia event, similar to the format at the upcoming Perth Supercars round.

Evans himself is no stranger to Perth either, having tested the Arise Ferrari at CARCO.com.au Raceway in March.

“I'm excited to be making my Asian racing debut and rejoining Phantom Global Racing,” Evans said.

“Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia has proven to be a popular and competitive series, racing on the same format as here in Australia.

“Partnering with JZ in the #13 Porsche 911 GT3R, we hope to arrive with a strong package. BOP is always a talking point, so we don’t actually know until we get on track.

“It’s my first time going to the Chang International Circuit and Thailand so I'm looking forward to a fun weekend.

"All these additional laps and race miles keeps me sharp and diversified as a driver. I'm getting plenty of seat time this year between Supercars and GT World Challenge Australia, so to add more with Porsche is a nice bonus.

"Hopefully a couple of big additions to announce in the coming week."

Tickets for the Bosch Power Tools Perth SuperSprint are on sale now. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
