Erebus Motorsport has confirmed Todd Hazelwood will return with the team at the upcoming Melbourne SuperSprint.

Erebus made an announcement on social media on Tuesday morning, confirming the South Australian will continue driving duties for Round 2 after debuting with the squad at last month’s season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500.

Hazelwood was announced as Brodie Kostecki's stand-in for the Bathurst event prior to the first test day of the season, with Hazelwood partnering former Matt Stone Racing teammate, Jack Le Brocq.

Hazelwood, the 2017 Super2 champion, impressed in his first race weekend in the #99 TFH Hire Services Erebus Camaro, securing an immediate Top Ten Shootout berth.

The 28-year-old started seventh and 12th for both 250km races, before bringing home finishes of 11th and 13th.

Le Brocq, meanwhile, is 11th in the championship after recording results of 13th and eighth.

"Erebus Motorsport remains firmly committed to respecting Brodie's privacy and we are unable to provide further updates at this time," an Erebus statement reads.

"Todd Hazelwood will continue to represent the team in car 99 at the Australian Grand Prix event.

"We would also like to express our thanks for the support we're received in recent weeks. Your messages mean the world to us."

Hazelwood is 13th in the drivers' standings heading into the second round of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship, with Erebus sixth in the points standings.

The Melbourne SuperSprint, set for March 21-24, will support the Rolex Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix 2024.
