Team BOC’s Jason Bright has taken Holden Racing Team’s Garth Tander’s advice to ‘build a bridge’ quite literally.

The pair had an intesnse late-race battle at the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 and debate has raged post-race, with

Tander telling v8supercars.com.au his rival should "build a bridge and get over it – this is Bathurst".

Bright posted this photo on Twitter yesterday, created with son Lennox's blocks:

Met by another ribbing from Ryan Walkinshaw:

Is this a contest that will continue at the ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600? So close in the Championship, will Bright and Tander clash once more – or will it be the Mark Winterbottom versus Jamie Whincup rivalry reignited on the concrete-lined streets, after such a close finish between the two at Mount Panorama?

The two Holden drivers traded positions in the the closing laps of the Supercheap Auto Bathurst 1000 fighting hard – so hard, in fact, an opening appeared for Red Bull Racing Australia’s Craig Lowndes to sail through and take the coveted podium position they were fighting for as well as the handful of points on offer.

It’s the second time the two have been involved in such close racing this season, a similar situation unfolding in Tasmania, with Bright claiming Tander hadn’t given him enough room at the Symmons Plains circuit.

Funnily enough, they are running sixth and seventh in the Championship, separated by just 17 points, with Bright on 1937 and Tander 1920. The difference in points allocated for fourth and fifth at Bathurst was 18 points.

Winterbottom/Steven Richards won the Great Race, with Whincup/Paul Dumbrell and Lowndes/Warren Luff ahead of Tander/Nick Percat and Bright/Andrew Jones.

There’s plenty to play for with the PIRTEK Enduro Cup awarded, and one third of the remaining Championship points on offer for the winner of both races – get tickets to the hottest party event, the ARMOR ALL Gold Coast 600 now, and follow @v8supercars on Twitter for all the social media action.
