Little more than a week after the devastating crash that destroyed his VF Commodore at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, Team BOC's Jason Bright has declared the team ready for action at this weekend's Formula One Rolex Australian Grand Prix.

The spectacular rollover forced the team to build a brand new car – something the Team BOC mechanics and engineers managed to complete in just seven days, one day ahead of schedule.

"The guys have done an awesome job to build up a car from a bare chassis in a week," Bright said.

"I thought we would be tight for time when we left the track that day – it's been an amazing turnaround."

Bright is confident it will be business as usual when the new car hits the track in Melbourne.

"I expect that the car will be the same as the old one," he said.

"Our set-up is where our strength is so I think we'll roll it out of the truck and it'll feel the same."

For Bright, practice at the MSS Security Challenge run at Albert Park is a chance to fix any issues, with two sessions on Thursday, before qualifying later that afternoon and the first of four races on Friday morning.

"We just need to go there and make sure we don't have any teething dramas initially, then we'll go out and try and win it like we usually do."

"We're not approaching this weekend any differently than any other normal round," Bright said.

Team BOC owner Brad Jones was full of praise for those involved in the car rebuild.

"What the guys have achieved here is absolutely sensational," he said.

"To get the car to the point of completion effectively a day early is a fantastic achievement.

"I can't speak highly enough of the work ethic and commitment to build effectively a new car from scratch," Jones said.

Bright last won at the Albert Park circuit in 2004, taking out two of the three races that year. He featured on the podium in three of last year’s four races, while teammate Fabian Coulthard won three of the four.

Can he go one better this year and bounce back from the season opening Clipsal 500? Tickets are available now so you can be there to cheer him on.
