BJR launches fan-powered Bathurst livery initiative

Brad Jones Racing and SCT Logistics are calling on fans to help design the #4 Camaro’s livery for the Repco Bathurst 1000.

This year’s Repco Bathurst 1000 celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Great Race at Mount Panorama, and BJR and SCT Logistics are highlighting 60 years of the best Bathurst moments.

Fans are being asked to submit their memories of the Great Race, which will be featured on the SCT Motorsport Supercar to be driven by Jack Smith and Jaxon Evans.

The SCT Camaro is set to become a montage of fan photos, which capture fans' favourite memories on and off track at Mount Panorama.

From camping memories to trackside highlights, fans’ photos will help BJR tell the story of the Great Race.

There are three ways fans can enter their submissions — comment on BJR’s Facebook post with their image, use the hashtag #SCTBathurst60 on an Instagram or X (formerly Twitter) post with their image, or email their image to [email protected].

Submissions are open from 12:00pm AEST on Wednesday September 7 to 7:00pm AEST on Tuesday September 19.

Further details regarding the SCT Motorsports livery will be released closer to the October 5-8 event.

Smith and Evans tested the #4 SCT Logistics Chevrolet at Winton Motor Raceway this week ahead of the upcoming Penrite Oil Sandown 500 on September 15-17.

“This is an awesome concept for the SCT Motorsports team. Every year Bathurst is packed with passionate Supercars fans and now being able to give them a chance to be part of the race in this way, it’s pretty special,” Smith said.

“I have so many good memories of coming to Bathurst, it’s such a remarkable place and track and I can’t wait to see what fans share with us.

“After last year, we’re very motivated to come into the weekend strong. We’ve seen this year what’s possible within our team and we’re looking to build on that.”

Kiwi sportscar ace Evans added: “It’s my second time coming to the 1000 to race and to be able to do so with the fans on our side literally, that’s amazing.

“I’ve had some experience in the Gen3 Camaro now, I’ve been able to adjust and find my feet a bit, overall I’m having a great time behind the wheel. I can’t wait to get to Sandown and Bathurst.”

Supercars will hit the track at Sandown next Friday. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
