A Bathurst winner and two-time Dunlop Super2 Series champ, Paul Dumbrell stepped back from Supercars competition in 2019.

It followed seven years as Jamie Whincup's partner in the enduros, largely accompanied by Super2 campaigns in ex-Triple Eight Commodores with Eggleston Motorsport.

After making his Supercars debut in 1999 at the tender age of 16, Dumbrell first competed in Super2 in 2001, finishing runner-up on debut.

He earned his maiden title the following year before being signed to replace Russell Ingall at Larry Perkins’ Holden Commodore squad in 2003.

In 2007 he left to join Supercheap Auto/PWR Racing, then moved into the HSV Dealer Team for ’08 under the Autobarn Racing banner.

Dumbrell made the switch to Ford in 2010 and broke through for his first race win at Sandown en-route to his best-ever championship finish of ninth.

He retired from full-time Supercars competition at the end of 2011, and won the Bathurst 1000 with Whincup at their first attempt the following year.

Whincup and Dumbrell took home the PIRTEK Enduro Cup in 2014, the year of Dumbrell’s second Super2 crown on his return to the class with Eggleston Motorsport.

Dumbrell finished 2018 with seven Supercars race wins – Bathurst glory accompanied by three Sandown 500s – and 41 victories in Super2, having also finished runner-up in his last two seasons.
