Paradise Waters Residents & Business Information

The streets of Surfers Paradise and Main Beach will soon be transformed in preparation for the 2023 Boost Mobile Gold Coast 500 with construction to commence from Monday 18 September.

At various times, traffic conditions will be altered and delays could be experienced.

Supercars has worked closely with several stakeholders including the City of Gold Coast, the Department of Transport and Main Roads, the Queensland Police Service and Translink to ensure this event can be carried out safely while minimising inconvenience to local residents and businesses.

Please refer to the Construction Schedule for further details on when various streets will be affected. Note that these pages will be updated regularly.

If you wish to receive weekly email updates, please email [email protected] to be added to the mailing list.

Paradise Waters is outside the race precinct, therefore residents have 24-hour pedestrian and vehicle access to their homes and businesses.

Paradise Waters residents are not eligible to apply for resident accreditation

The Main Beach Traffic Area

  • The City of Gold Coast will enact the Main Beach Traffic Area over the weekend with the 2 hour traffic zone in place.

  • Resident event parking permits will be distributed by Supercars week commencing October 16, 2023. These will be delivered to Building Managers (for high rise complexes) and mail boxes (for homes and units). Residents do not need to apply via the City of Gold Coast website for Main Beach Traffic Area permits.

  • These permits will allow residents extended parking in the specified 2 hour Event Parking zones. These permits DO NOT override regular City of Gold Coast parking signs. Please ensure you take a moment to check when parking on the streets of Main Beach.

  • The two hour parking zone is marked on the Event Map and via the City of Gold Coast website and will only be in force from 9am - 5pm on Friday 27 October, Saturday 28 October and Sunday 29 October.

  • If residents/businesses require additional parking passes, they can be supplied upon presentation of identification to confirm your residency. We will be located in the Accreditation Centre (demountable buildings) on Breaker Street from Saturday October 21 until Sunday 29 October

Police Presence – Admiralty Drive – Event Week

  • To ease traffic congestion on Monday 23 & Tuesday 24 October, the Queensland Police Service (QPS) will be present at the intersection of Admiralty Drive and Gold Coast Highway between 7am - 9am & 4pm - 6pm.

  • From Wednesday 25 to Sunday 29 October, QPS will be on duty from 7am - 7pm. At all other times vehicles will utilise the traffic signals.

  • The right-hand turning lane into Paradise Waters (when travelling from Southport) will be opened for the duration of the event however this will be under police control when on duty at the times listed above. There may be times during Event Week (for example on Wednesday 25 October when the convoy of transporter trucks access Pit Lane) when QPS need to temporarily close this turning lane. Please follow their directions at all times.
