What to expect at the ITM Auckland SuperSprint

The Repco Supercars Championship returns to New Zealand for this weekend’s tenth round of the 2022 season – the ITM Auckland SuperSprint.

The final Pukekohe event will feature an on-track entertainment extravaganza, alongside three days of Supercars action.

The ITM Auckland SuperSprint will be the final Supercars round at the famous Pukekohe circuit.

It was announced earlier this year that Pukekohe will cease motorsport activities in 2023.

With just two days until the cars hit the track for Practice 1 at Pukekohe, Supercars.com has listed some answers to key questions ahead of the event.

The ITM Auckland SuperSprint will be a three-day event held across September 9-11.

The race weekend will feature three 41-lap races, one on Saturday and two on Sunday.

Every session of event will be broadcast live on Foxtel (Fox Sports 506) and will be streamed on Kayo, with the Seven Network airing highlights packages on both days. Check out the full TV schedule here.

Supercars will hit the Pukekohe Park Raceway circuit for the first of three 30-minute practice sessions at 2:40pm local time on Friday. 

There will be a bumper support line-up, headlined by the Historics, Formula Ford, Toyota 86 and Central Muscle Cars. The full weekend schedule can be viewed here.

The ITM Auckland SuperSprint will be staged in accordance with all applicable government regulations, including those responding to COVID-19, as well as a detailed COVIDSafe Event Plan prepared by Supercars and approved by government, and we can provide the following information for fans to assist with their preparation for the event.

There are a number of food outlets to choose from located around the event precinct. Patrons may bring in limited quantities of food and drink for personal consumption.

Alcoholic beverages are available for sale from the numerous bars and licensed outlets located throughout the venue.

Bars will operate from 10am daily and close at 6pm. Liquor licensing laws prevent patrons from bringing their own alcohol into the venue. No glass is permitted.

There is a selection of merchandise stalls in the event precinct, located on either side of the service road at the top of the hill between Gate 2 and 3.

Enjoy the trackside Family Zone with bouncy castles, an inflatable slide, an obstacle course, face painters, and much more.

The family zone is located between gates 2 and 3.

Please be courteous when queuing for entry/exit, for food and beverages, or for merchandise purchases and always keep 1.5 metres from other patrons.

Fans can bring cash or card, with food vendors accepting both.

Children aged 12 and under are free to enter the venue in general admission areas; however, they must always be accompanied by their ticket-holding parent or guardian. Children require tickets for hospitality and grandstand areas.

The corporate experience facilities are located within the Paddock Area and guests are instructed to enter via Gates 2 and 3.

General admission access to the event is through Gate 2 and Gate 3 for pedestrians. 

Gates open at 10:00am local on Friday, 9:15am local time on Saturday and 8:45am local time on Sunday.

Supercars Members with a membership card will gain priority entry at the Main Gate.

Pukekohe Park Raceway is located in Pukekohe, approximately 40 km south of the Auckland CBD.

Public parking will be available to purchase at the Pukekohe Showgrounds.

Car parking will be $20 per car. It is a 15-20 min walk from the Pukekohe Showgrounds to the Pukekohe Park Raceway, along Subway Road and Manukau Road.

Parking will be open from 7am on Saturday 10 Sept and Sunday 11 Sept ONLY.

There is no additional public parking available within the event precinct.

Please note, there will be heavy traffic congestion to the event and exiting the event between 4.30pm and 6.30pm along Manukau and Buckland Roads during the event dates. 

Supercars strongly recommends car-pooling where possible to help reduce traffic congestion.

Accessible car parking is located in Carpark A; please show your disabled parking pass and you will be allocated a space closest to Gate 2A. 

Accessible parking is allocated on a first come first served basis as there is limited parking available. The accessible parking drop off area is outside Gate 2.

Event organisers encourage attendees to stay COVID Safe by washing their hands as often as possible and keeping a safe distance from others.

As with all events, patrons must not attend if feeling unwell or if they have been in contact with a confirmed or suspected COVID-19 case.

The event is being broadcast exclusively live and ad free on Foxtel and streamed live on Kayo across September 9-11.

The Seven Network will show highlights on Saturday and Sunday.
