Brad Vaughan has been hit with a spate of penalties over his qualifying clash with Jack Perkins.

Vaughan veered into the path of Perkins late in ARMOR ALL Qualifying on Saturday at the NTI Townsville 500.

Perkins was forced into the outside wall concrete approaching Turn 7, with Vaughan spinning to the infield.

The former was unable to set a representative time, and was 25th and last.

Perkins was later ruled out for the remainder of the weekend due to chassis damage.
