The Shell V-Power Racing Team driver will share the Race 29 front row with Cam Waters.

Van Gisbergen, meanwhile, will start alongside Red Bull Ampol Racing teammate Broc Feeney.

“It’s going to be a special day today,” Davison said.

“It’s been an incredible atmosphere all week.

“I won’t claim all the support; the Blue Oval [fans] just loves this car 17.

“An iconic car, massive support, an honour to represent it and do it justice with a lap like that.

“Now the important stuff starts."
