Supercars wins best sports digital platform
Supercars has been awarded the Best Sports Digital Platform at the Ministry of Sports Marketing Awards in Sydney.
Best Sports Digital Platform was open to sports websites, mobile applications, social platforms, online sports news content, classifieds/e-commerce networks, e-sales of tickets and promotional campaigns of sports events locally, regionally and internationally.
Supercars.com won from a strong field which included the Fox Sports App and AFC Asian Cup Australia.
Supercars CEO James Warburton said it was recognition of the organisation's commitment to offering its fans the best sports digital content in Australia.
"I also want to thank our fans who are not just among the most passionate sports fans Australia but are highly engaged across all of our digital platforms," he said.
"It's also recognition of our hard working digital staff and all of our drivers and teams in the Supercars family who make themselves so accessible to the fans.
"Supercars has achieved huge growth across its digital platforms with nearly 8.6 million website visits so far in 2016. Video is a top performer with 12.6 million views across our platforms.
“We also have a highly engaged audience on social media, with 740,000 likes on Facebook, almost 100,000 followers on Twitter and over 90,000 on Instagram.
"In 2016 we have added respected voices to our website including reigning Supercars Champion Mark Winterbottom and award winning writer Mark Fogarty to complement our digital team.

The Virgin Australia Supercars Championship heads to Queensland Raceway this weekend for the Coates Hire Ipswich SuperSprint from July 22-24.
