Reynolds to run #500 for milestone Supercars weekend

David Reynolds will sport the #500 on his Snowy River Caravans Chevrolet Camaro in Christchurch.

Team 18 revealed the special gesture on the eve of the ITM Christchurch Super 440, which opens with Reynolds' milestone 500th race.

Reynolds has been made to wait for No. 500, which was scheduled for the Taupō finale, only for Sunday's track action to be cancelled due to the effects of Cyclone Vaianu.

Team 18 crew will also wear a one-off celebratory T-shirt celebrating the milestone, which can be bought trackside in Christchurch.

Reynolds debuted in the 2007 enduros, and has been a full-time fixture on the grid since 2009.

He won races for Prodrive Racing Australia (now Tickford Racing), Erebus Motorsport and Grove Racing, his career highlighted by stunning Bathurst victory with Erebus in 2017.

“500 races is a massive achievement, and it says a lot about the kind of driver and person Dave is. To compete at this level for that long, stay competitive and still love what he does and that’s not easy," team owner Charlie Schwerkolt said.

“Since coming into Team 18, he’s brought a huge amount of experience and energy to the group. He’s played a big part in where we’re heading as a team, and that Bathurst podium last year was a great example of what he can do.

"But more than that, he’s just a genuine character. What you see is what you get with Dave, and that’s why fans love him. He brings personality to the sport, and you need that.

"We’re really proud to have him with us for this milestone, and hopefully we can help him celebrate it the right way out on track.”
