As 2025 winds down, Supercars.com is ranking the top 10 drivers of the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship, continuing with Kai Allen, who comes in as our #6.
After one of the great rookie seasons Supercars has ever seen, Kai Allen is more than deserving of a place as one of the top 10 drivers in the category.
It was a rookie season that started with a rollercoaster of highs and lows, as to be expected, but he came home all guns blazing in the second half of the year.
Securing a Grand Final berth was nothing short of astonishing, becoming the first rookie to finish the championship inside the top four since Greg Murphy in 1997. The only rookie season that's better? Craig Lowndes' 1996 title win at his first attempt.
In the space of 12 months, Allen has gone from rookie to superstar. Who knows where he'll go in the next 12 months?

Why we picked him
The step up from Super2 to Supercars is an enormous leap, regardless of if you're a Super2 champion or not, and Allen would be the first to tell you that. However, when he figured it out, he truly came of age.
Starting the season as a teenager, Allen's natural ability shone through at circuits he'd never driven before - namely Taupō, Darwin, and the Gold Coast, whilst he also made the most of strategy plays and clear air several times through the year.
His double podium performance at Darwin was mightily impressive, and set up his charge towards Finals, which was secured with a composed drive in the face of adversity at Bathurst.
When Finals did come, Allen lifted, improving all of his key metrics markedly, and performing at a near-similar level to that of Bathurst-winning teammate Matt Payne.
What we expect next season
Despite an outstanding season and widespread praise, Allen was the first to admit that not being able to jag a maiden race win meant the season was only a 'seven out of 10.'
However, Penrite Racing take another step forward in 2026, expect them to be battling it out with Red Bull Ampol Racing to be crowned teams' champions, and for Allen to keep collecting silverware
How Allen gels with his new engineer in former Ferrari F1 performance engineer Riccardo Corte will also be one of the most fascinating storylines of the new season.
There will be a massive desire from Allen to finally climb to the top step of the podium, and given the form of both team and driver, you can't help but feel it's only a matter of time.
