Craig Lowndes to equal Peter Brock on 32 Bathurst starts
Jim Richards holds record with 35 Bathurst starts, Brock behind on 32
31 drivers on 2025 Bathurst grid born after Lowndes's 1994 debut
Craig Lowndes will match his late mentor at the upcoming Repco Bathurst 1000, with the Supercars Hall of Famer set to record his 32nd Great Race start.
Lowndes has started every Great Race since 1994, and will draw level with Peter Brock's 32 starts at the October 9-12 event. Tickets are on sale now.
Last year, Lowndes surpassed Brock's marker of 30 straight Bathurst starts. Brock started each Great Race from his 1969 debut to 1997, before making two more starts in 2002 and 2004 for his own team and the Holden Racing Team respectively.
Only seven-time winner Jim Richards, who made 35 consecutive starts, has made more Bathurst starts, all coming in a row.

With Lowndes signing a new two-year deal with Team 18, he will reach at least 34 starts by the end of 2027.
This year's race will also be Lowndes's last with Triple Eight Race Engineering, having first joined the team in 2005.
Lowndes debuted as a 20-year-old for the Holden Racing Team in 1994. Of his 31 starts, seven came with HRT, two with Gibson Motorsport, two with Ford Performance Racing, and 20 with Triple Eight.
Lowndes, 51, already has the 'most podiums' record at Mount Panorama with 14, and has seven wins.
A staggering 31 of 53 other drivers on the 2025 Bathurst grid were born after Lowndes made his Bathurst debut, including co-driver Zach Bates, who was born in 2004.
Remarkably, Tickford Racing wildcard Rylan Gray was born after Lowndes's 2006 famous victory, when the Peter Brock Trophy was won for the first time.
Every session of this year's Repco Bathurst 1000 will be broadcast live on Foxtel and streamed on Kayo. The Seven Network will provide live free to air coverage of the event.
