Craig Lowndes's return to Supercars competition in 2025 has gotten off to a wild start, with the seven-time Bathurst winner fined over pit lane speed.
Images captured during the session saw Lowndes catching a wild slide exiting the final corner as he attempted to bring his wildcard Chevrolet into pit lane.
Post-session, stewards hit Lowndes with a $500 fine over a pit lane speed breach.
Lowndes was 14km/h over the pit lane speed limit of 40km/h, with the #888 Supercheap Auto Camaro recorded at 54km/h at the Pit Entry timing loop.

The Lowndes/Zach Bates Camaro ended the session 27th and last in Practice 1, with the running order jumbled as rain lashed The Bend Motorsport Park.
Fastest lap honours fell to Aaron Cameron/Zak Best from Blanchard Racing Team, with the BRT Mustang leading an all-Ford top five.
Co-drivers will have a dedicated 30-minute session at 1:30pm local/2:00pm AEST, followed by Practice 3 at 3:55pm local/4:25pm AEST.
