Chaz Mostert has emerged from a wet and wild Friday at the bp Adelaide Grand Final as the beneficiary in the race to be crowned the 2025 Repco Supercars Champion.
Mostert finished second behind Brodie Kostecki, who is out of Finals contention, capitalising on an unforced error from points leader Broc Feeney who was leading from pole early.
Feeney and Mostert boxed on from the front row, with neither backing down as both laid their intentions this weekend bare.
The points leader would finish fourth, being pushed down another position by an aggressive dive from Mostert's teammate Ryan Wood at the final corner.
As a result, Mostert has closed his deficit to Feeney by seven points, the margin now sitting at 13 points entering the dual 250km races that will conclude the 2025 season.
Will Brown and Kai Allen also remain well in contention, after finishing ninth and fifth respectively, however for Brown it could've easily ended in disaster.
After qualifying outside the top 10 for the fourth time in five Finals races, Brown was tagged into a spin by Thomas Randle on the opening lap, but stormed back through the field in a trademark charge to keep his charge alive.
Brown and Allen now sit 48 and 53 points behind Feeney respectively, with 250 points on offer for the balance of the weekend.
On-track action in Adelaide continues tomorrow with Boost Mobile Qualifying at 10:05am local time/10:35am AEDT, followed by the Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout at 12:35pm local/1:05pm AEDT, before Race 33 at 3:20pm local/3:50pm AEDT.
