Edwards absent from Tasmania as he remains with family
A new name will oversee proceedings in Tasmania this weekend, with Motorsport Operations Manager James Delzoppo standing in for Tim Edwards.
Delzoppo joined Supercars this year, following eight years of service as the Race Operations and Integrity Officer at Motorsport Australia.
He will stand in for Edwards, who will miss the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint as he remains with family.
The change was confirmed in Further Supplementary Regulations 3 on Thursday, a day before track action in Tasmania.
“Supercars can advise that James Delzoppo will be acting in the role of General Manager of Motorsport this weekend at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint,” a Supercars spokesperson said.
“James is stepping in for Tim Edwards, who will not attend the event, and will stay with family.
“James has an extensive background in overseeing various motorsport disciplines, and has already contributed to the business since joining Supercars this year as the new Motorsport Operations Manager."
Supercars will hit the track at the NED Whisky Tasmania SuperSprint for the first time on Friday afternoon. Tickets for the event are on sale now.
Live coverage can be found on Foxtel, with live streaming available on Kayo. Highlights will be shown on the Seven Network and 7plus. International viewers can follow all the action on Superview.
