Some new faces are the new leaders in a number of key metrics coming into the 2025 Repco Supercars Championship.

After 21 seasons as a full-time driver, Mark Winterbottom farewelled the grid at the end of 2024 and, with it, moved on following a hugely prolific career.

The 2015 Supercars champion had more race wins (39), podiums (120), pole positions (36), race starts (645) and round starts (270) than any other driver at the end of the season.

It means some new drivers have taken over at the top of some statistical columns, two showing up more than most, as broken down below by Supercars.com.

Wins

Chaz Mostert takes over with 24 wins, three of which came in 2024. Winterbottom took top spot in 2024 after Shane van Gisbergen departed to NASCAR, having claimed 80 wins between 2011 and 2023.

Mark Skaife topped the win tally until 2013, when Craig Lowndes went past. Jamie Whincup went past both before retiring at the end of 2021, handing the mantle to van Gisbergen.

Behind Mostert is Will Davison, who has 22 wins, yet last tasted victory in September 2022. Behind them are James Courtney and Cam Waters, who have 15 wins apiece.

Of drivers who took big leaps in 2024, Brown took his tally from 11 to 30 last season, Feeney from 14 to 28, and Mostert from 87 to 98. S

hould Mostert claim two podiums in 2025, he will become just the eighth driver to hit a century of podiums, behind Whincup (239), van Gisbergen (177), Lowndes (169), Winterbottom (120), Scott McLaughlin (106), Peter Brock and Garth Tander (both 100).

The championship's new top elder statesmen are Courtney and Davison, who enter the 2025 season on 257 rounds each. They are set to end 2025 on 270; by then, only Lowndes (306), Tander (294) and Winterbottom (289) are set to have more.

Across the season, Courtney and Davison will also surpass Jason Bright (260), Rick Kelly (265). Davison debuted in the 2004 enduros, and Courtney in 2005. Courtney went ahead in the race start stakes in 2020, when Davison was sidelined.

Reynolds (209 rounds and 456 races) is the only other driver on the 2025 grid with 200-plus rounds and 400-plus races, ahead of Mostert (154 rounds and 348 races) and Nick Percat (155 rounds and 340 races).

Champions

As was the case in 2024, there will be three single champions on the 2025 grid: new champion Will Brown, 2023 champion Brodie Kostecki, and 2010 champion James Courtney.

Supercars isn't alone in world motorsport in encountering a dearth of multiple champions. Formula One only has three champions on its 2025, all multiple (Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso.

IndyCar has four (Scott Dixon, Alex Palou, Josef Newgarden and Will Power), MotoGP has two (Marc Marquez and Francesco Bagnaia), as does the NASCAR Cup Series (Joey Logano and Kyle Busch), while the World Rally Championship has one (Kalle Rovanpera).
